| Interdisciplinary Women’s Studies, Gender and Sexuality offers the Graduate Diploma in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, which investigates what it means to be a woman or a man in society and culture. Our units look closely at the impact of gender, sex and sexuality on our lives in a variety of arenas: at home, at work, on the streets, in the classroom. Who are we? Why are we the ways we are? What directions is society taking? GenderStudies offers new approaches to untangling these questions. Our programs bring together units in Anthropology, English, Critical and Cultural Studies, History, Law, Media and Communications, Human Geography, Philosophy, Politics, Sociology and many others. There are also units focused solely on Women’s Studies and Gender. Teaching staff are drawn from several Departments as well as ourselves, and our students are women and men, new entry and ‘mature’ age, full-time and part-time. |

The Graduate Diploma in Women’s Studies, Gender and Sexuality is offered full-time and part-time, at can be commenced in first or second semester. enrolment information and application forms can be found at
All WST units can be studied both on-campus and at a distance, and as we have been offering our units online since 2000 we are well established to cater for the needs of students who find it difficult to pursue studies on-campus.
As our coherency programs are interdisciplinary, it is currently not possible to study all electives off campus. However, some are currently already offered online, including ENGL325, HIST338, LAW402, LAW411, EDUC356 and GEOS324. Most already have at least lectures offered online via the i-lecture system, and we are also in the process of negotiating with the convenors of the other elective subjects to make their subjects available to off-campus students. We have had a positive response from most convenors, so far. These include AHST370, MAS302, ANTH374, ANTH382, PHIL352, POL319, PSY361 and SOC381.
